A bunch of people have been asking me to do this blog, and it's taken me a while, but I was finally coaxed into it. I guess I should start with who I am. Up until 9 months ago, I was a typical New York city single girl (well...I'm still single, but...more on that later). Then... I received that life changing phone call at 4pm at work. "I'm sorry to report, but your have CANCER!"
Well...I burst out in tears (duh!), and I ran into the bathroom. People thought somebody had DIED!! I still don't know how I made it home from work that day.
So...ever since then, my life has been spiraling in a totally different direction than what I had planned for myself. My mom always used to say this expression: "Man plans and God laughs" or as some people say: "man proposed, God disposes".
Don't get me wrong, I'm a VERY faithful person, but I can't lie and say that this recent development hasn't shaken my faith quite a bit.
Anyway, I will fill y'all in on more of the details of what has transpired in the last 8 months, but in the meantime, the reason why I felt "compelled" to tell my story to the world, is because of the earth-shattering phone call I received 5 days ago: "I'm sorry to report that your cancer is...BACK!"
I hope that my fight, and this blog, will help and inspire those of you who have been touched with this wretched disease. This blog is dedicated to all you fighters out there! Let's keep fighting the good fight!!
